I remember my first summer in 1986. Two guys in that cabin that have become my life-long friends were Andrew Clendenen and Charlie King. Andrew was in the bunk below me in Lily Pad and Charlie was in the lower bunk facing the soccer field. What I didn't know that summer was that I would have the opportunity to do life with both these guys and really get to grow up. A year or two later I met Micah Howard who has also become a life-long friend. Micah was sort of the chief of our camp crew and I can vividly remember doing all kinds of fun things, from playing "man hunt" in the creek bottom to throwing mud at each other on frequent occasions. What a true blessing to have such great friends, then and now. Huawni isn't just any texas summer camp- it's my second home.

I loudly exclaimed "CALF ROPE" one night not too long ago at the dinner table (my grandfather said "calf rope" when he was full. I got a few stares and puzzled looks. But, that's okay...I'm used to it.

I really enjoy the blogs. Keep it up.
