Have you ever tried to expand your knowledge into a newfangled dimension of technology that would “make your life easier?” Here’s my story from this week…

So, as most of you know, I’m a pretty “outdoorsy” kind of person, but most of what we do here in the office during the fall and winter months requires the use of different technological interfaces, making it “easier” of course to manage day to day tasks and business operations. That being said, I’m somewhat savvy with a computer and the internet and would consider myself at the peak of the technology curve. I try not to slump off the back end of the curve whereby I would be in the company of my mamaw but I’m not racing ahead of Bill Gates either. Slow and steady is my motto…

So you can imagine why I might get a little frustrated with not being able to work the printer/copier.

My take on office printers and copiers:

Don’t you hate it when…
1.) It doesn’t do what you want it to do? 2.) You decide to turn the whole thing off at the switch because you’re afraid that you seriously messed something up or that it might explode if you don’t? 3.) You get an “error message” you don’t understand? 4.) The paper jams? 5.) You have to go through all 17 steps of “unjamming” the paper? 6.) The toner light comes on? 7.) You have to replace the toner? 8.) You don’t have any toner? 9.) You don’t know how to replace the toner? 10.) You regret not getting your college degree in toner replacement and office utility management?

Needless to say, office life this week has me thinking more and more about the beauty the wilderness has to offer. As a result, my mind has turned to the beautiful memories conjured by that second home nestled in the Pineywoods. The sweet aroma of summertime and the sound of whispering pines have rustled my heart this week as I find myself trying to figure out why the printer won’t work. I guess I’ll keep trying…

Oh hey! I wonder what this does…?

Why do bad things happen?
