Christmas... In July?!

It might be the middle of a hot Texas summer, but tonight at Huawni it’s going to be Christmas! Our theme for the end of session Celebration this year is Christmas in July, and campers are in for a surprise when they see the dining hall tonight. Thanks to some hard working counselors the dining hall will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of Christmas activities! When campers aren’t dancing the night away, they can play Pin The Heart On the Grinch, Christmas Tree Coke Toss, or enjoy a root beer float!

Of course, we could never have a Christmas event without the big man himself… SANTA! We called him earlier this year and got special permission from the elves to fly him down for an evening in Texas. He is on his way now, his plane should be landing at the Shelby County Airport as we speak! We are all excited to spend time with the campers tonight celebrating a wonderful session. These past two weeks have been full of fun and each camper is undoubtedly leaving with lots of happy memories. But before we all say goodbye, we are going to have a celebration so good Christmas might be permanently moved to July!
