We are only about 30 days away from opening day, and already I’m getting butterflies about seeing our Huawni families once again. More fun, more dancing, and more meaningful conversations are right around the corner.

As camp draws near, I wanted to share several important tid bits, especially to our first-year families. If you have anymore questions, please don’t hesitate to post your question to this blog below; this way all parents will have the benefit of seeing the answer. If it’s more private in nature, just give us a call or email us at .

9 Things To Know About Preparing For Camp

  1. Pack clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We play outside a lot and your child will get dirty!
  2. Label everything (cloths, towels, socks, underwear, etc.) with a black sharpie. If you don’t, you’ll have to do so when you arrive to your cabin. This helps us make sure you don’t lose your wardrobe at Camp!
  3. Bring or purchase a water bottle to stay hydrated. You can even make a pick-up order here for a really awesome Huawni Nalgene water bottle.
  4. Bring bug spray , sun screen , and a cap for a little UV protection.
  5. For campers who come for 2 weeks, bring 2 or 3 nicer outfits for church, celebration, and other events.
  6. Don’t bring nice jewelry or cash ; we don’t want you to lose it and you won’t need it.
  7. Pack a sweatshirt/fleece and a blanket …the low at night last year was 61 degrees!
  8. Campers will be with kids their age , both in their cabins and activity groups. They get to participate in all activities!
  9. Make sure you fax in all your camp docs BEFORE you get to camp , including your health and insurance forms. Login to your CampInTouch account from our homepage or the top right of this page.
