Miss our Campinar last week on getting ready for camp? Have no worry, here’s a quick recap for you first year parents.

Preparing for Camp Short List

  1. The best place to start in preparing for camp is HERE on our website. Keep reading and there’s 8 great pages of details on exactly what you need to know.

  2. Make sure your footlocker isn’t more than 18 inches tall

  3. Bring battery operated fans only

  4. Don’t bring super nice cloths, only 2-3 pairs of nice casual outfits for 2 weekers (church, celebration, Miss Huawni)

  5. Send snail mail, kids love it!

  6. You have a ton of access to camp; login to your CampInTouch account (login button on this page to the upper right) on our website to see pics, order pics, and send emails to your kids that are printed out at lunch each day.

  7. Read our daily blog on what’s going on at Camp

  8. Our camp store is open on opening and closing day; kids don’t need any cash. If you child is coming 2 weeks and haven’t been inducted into either the Caddo or Tejas tribes, you can purchase a team jersey and we’ll deliver the right team jersey after they find out what team they’re on.

  9. If your child is not a great swimmer, we have life jackets for them to wear. They are welcome to bring their own as well. All campers must complete a swim test before participating in water activities.

Also, I’ve attached my notes to the Campinar below, which outline how to be a great, first-time camp parent.
