My brother Austin quarterbacked an impressive counselor volleyball tournament this evening. I walked out of last evening orientation session and saw a beautiful site. The sun was setting over the pines, the grass was freshly mowed on the Front Yard, and the buzz of camp was in the air.

This week’s orientation has been really special. We’ve had hands on training for activities and we’ve hashed it out in the Dining Hall discussing important topics like how to be a great cabin counselor and how to ensure safety for every child this summer. The counselors have one more day….they are ready to see the kiddos.

Tomorrow we’ll be brushing up on our Opening Night Show lines, awaiting to be reunited with the reason we’re here…the kids. We cannot wait to see all those smiling faces come down the camp road; there’s really nothing like Opening Day.
