Good morning! We’re back online. Yesterday was our “day of rest”, so I enjoyed it by taking a break from technology. Yes, that’s right, even from the blog. I hope you parents took a break too. I know you wanted to see your kiddos in action; hopefully today I can catch you up on all the fun they’re having. Yesterday was a special day for multiple reasons.

Sunday mornings are always special at Camp. We sleep in, eat a late breakfast, and then head on over to the Little Red Church for church. The Bible says that the people are the church, and that is never more apparent than in our Camp service. The old church was built in 1955 after the original church burned to the ground due to lighting. The property was donated by founder Earl Adams’s parents, my great grandparents, and since has been a our little haven on Sundays.

We started off our time together by singing Swing Low, He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands, and Father I Adore You. For you alums, you recognize these songs because we’ve sang them for years. Next, Ashley, Erin and myself played a couple of new worship songs. Following worship, younger campers went outside to be part of a lesson from Jesus Storybook and I shared a message with older campers out of Luke 10 and the parable of the Good Samaritan . The jest of the message was that God’s grace is available to everyone and that He uses everyone, even the so called “lowly”, to love other people.

After the message, campers and staff exited the church in solitude and silence, which we’ve traditionally done for years.

Here’s a few pictures from our time together yesterday.

Worship at the Little Red Church is such a peaceful and meaningful time.

We will try and get up more posts later today on how awesome Sunday was. Until then, happy Monday!
