One of the best days at Camp is Sunday. In the afternoon kids get to choose their own adventure.

For many campers, hike is the only and best choice. This past Sunday we hiked to Joe Shield’s barn. The barn is at least 130 years old. This particular hike we trekked about 2 miles into the Piney Woods; it was a lovely day, and when we arrived to our destination we were met with ice cold watermelon. Out of all the watermelon I’ve had this summer, this was by far the best.

After a few moments of eating ice cold watermelon, a gentle rain began to fall….it was really perfect, especially since we haven’t had any rain for a while.

We had a watermelon catching contest as well, where counselors threw watermelon in the air for everyone to catch in their mouths. There was lots of laughter and it was a perfect day for a hike.

We trekked about 2 miles to Joe Shield’s barn.
