Opening Day is here and boy did it go by fast! It was a bit more humid than usual, but thankfully we had a bit of a breeze and no rain. Thank you to all our families who endured the heat to your kiddos to Camp!

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to catch up with many of you parents. The excitement of Opening Day is a fun one, and we love seeing the excitement on campers’ faces as they drive in the camp gates and run to go pick a bunk. Tonight we’ll eat Ada’s famous Fried Chicken and do a quick camper orientation. After that we’ll get to step foot for the first time on the Front Lawn for some free time, followed by our Opening Night Show (ONS). ONS is a theatrical play put on by the counselors; we do this to ease kids into the session. It’s a comfortable and fun way to get into the flow of camp, especially for our first-year campers. There’s a lot of laughter, and all campers have to do is sit back and have fun.

Again, please make sure you subscribe to this blog by going to our News Page and clicking “Subscribe via email” about halfway down the page. Once you do this you’ll receive an automatic email every time I post a blog.

Also, I’ll be blogging on the book Homesick and Happy, and if you’d like a free copy, reply on this blog below where it says “What are you gonna say?” and I’ll mail you one.

We are so grateful you’ve chosen to send your child to Huawni…it’s time to have fun.

Until tomorrow!
