Ukuleles Tribal Comp Team Announcements
Friday is here and we cannot believe week one is almost over! Last night we enjoyed the Talent Show in the Dining Hall. It still amazes me how courageous our campers are. They are willing to get on stage and share their talent with 200 plus people!! I am so proud of our Session 2 campers, as we had so many wonderful acts on stage last night.
After Talent Show campers gathered on the Front Yard as they awaited the Tribal Competition Fire Ceremony. This is a solemn ceremony where first year two-week campers find out what tribe they will be a part of. I was encouraged last night as both tribes came up with specific sportsmanship qualities with which they hope to model to their opposing tribe (i.e. they want to do this for the other tribe). Caddo chose humility; they are wanting to consider Tejas better than themselves and lift Tejas up win or lose. Tejas chose the phrase support at all times, as they want to continually encourage Caddo despite what happens on the field.
I know you first-time two-week parents have been awaiting team announcements. Without further ado, here are you new Caddo and Tejas tribe members!!

Today is the first of individual competition at activities. Hot Shot, Swimming, Archery, and Obstacle Course (OC) are all in full swing as campers are giving it their best to run or swim their best time and score as many points as possible. Tonight we will have our first team Tribal Comp event at Soccer Finals. More to come soon!
