It’s the last day of Camp and it’s hard to believe this session is coming to an end. 163 campers are soaking up the Huawni sun for their last full day.
Here’s a quick recap of what all has been going on here.
Last night campers took to the Huawni Turf for some Huawni Soccer. The field was freshly cut and lined. We reseeded it last August and it’s looking very plush. After soccer we opened up the Huawni Snowcone Stand and slip-n-slide on Flagpole Hill. It was sweet and simple fun!
This morning we ate delicious scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruit and campers got their last regular dose of activities. This afternoon we are celebrating the session by throwing a Critter Pond Mixer (i.e. one huge party at the Critter Pond). Tonight we will host Initiation as we are excited to welcome 73 campers into the Huawni Tribe. We will also announce our princess and chief. Each will represent Girls and Boys Camp respectively.
Tonight we will finish the session with a Sing Song by the pool. We are going to miss these campers. They really have grown up this week and we hope you notice tomorrow during Closing Day.
Tomorrow when you pick up your children you will head straight from your car to your child’s cabin. I really want to encourage you to spend time with your child’s counselor. Ask them about your child’s week. Ask about some memorable moments they had with your child. Ask them how they saw your child grow up this week. And please don’t feel like you have to rush. We’ve purposely carved out this time for you and your child and your child’s counselor. Closing Ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the Dining Hall.
We will see you in the morning! Gates open at 9am.
We are savoring every moment in our last day of Camp!
