Happy Friday Camp Huawni! Today I was looking through some of our summer surveys from Huawni Parents and thought it would be encouraging to share with all of you. Enjoy!

“Before camp our son needed to face his fears, make new friends, and be more independent. I believe he did [just this] at Camp this year. Our son just finished his 1st year at Camp Huawni. At 6 years old we weren’t sure if a two-week overnight summer camp was okay and we were nervous. All the Directors/Owners/ Office Staff/ Camp Counselors were amazing and answered all my questions, returned calls, sent packages on time, made us know they really cared about our child. You name it, they did it! So we picked him up to non-stop camp stories and showing us around, so Happy, excited to share all his fun activities with us. The stories of adventures and the amazing time he had makes us so happy we made the choice to choose this overnight summer camp for our him and our other son next year!!” Amelia L. (Huawni Mom)

“Both kids had a pretty good school year. Our son has dealt with some pretty significant anxiety related to storms, so I was happy to hear he had a great time playing in the rain at the end of camp! Our daughter was so proud she overcame her fear of doing the high ropes course, including the zip line. Her counselor prayed with her before she went down, and then she was ready. She loved it! The kids raved about their counselors! Aaron and I enjoyed getting to talk to the counselors on closing day. What great young people they are! Grateful for the way they poured into our kids during the session. They also really loved growing closer and having fun with their friends. I am looking forward to seeing how they evolve after their experience this summer. I highly recommend Camp Huawni to parents who are considering overnight summer camp for the first time. The campers are known and celebrated as the unique individuals God created them to be, and they are not just a number. Great camper to counselor ratio. The counselors are intentional about how they pour into the kiddos. I love hearing about the wonderful memories my kids made with their friends over the session. It truly is a place where kids see how fun the simple things really are—fishing, jumping off a diving board, doing crafts, creating skits and laughing with friends, swimming in the pond, team sports in a competitive yet encouraging environment…I could go on and on. I’ve seen my kids become more independent over the years, and I attribute a big part of that to their overnight summer camp experience.”Lauren L. (Huawni Mom)

“Our son had a great 5th grade year. He was very anxious and nervous to return to camp this year even though it was his choice. His overnight summer camp experience was so much better this year. He felt the boys in his cabin were more inclusive and willing to be friendly. He really enjoyed all 3 of his counselors. They connected on many levels and had deep conversations about social interactions with other campers. As a parent, I felt more comfortable sending Drake to camp his second year. Camp Huawni is a great place to send your child to overnight summer camp. I truly believe they are there to mentor your child on how to socialize and connect on a deeper level. In today’s world it is so important for kids to accept themselves and others right where they are—Camp Huawni focuses on that.”Danielle A. (Huawni Mom)

I’ve never seen such a high staff to camper ratio in a lifetime of camping experience. The kids get lots of love and attention, but they are also encouraged to safely step out of their comfort zones and try new experiences. Camp is good for the whole family because everyone grows!” -Main 1 Camp Mom
