Ultimate preparing for summer camp guide 2.jpg?ixlib=rails 2.1

With camp only weeks away, we wanted share with our camp families the ultimate preparing for camp guide. Here’s everything you need to know as camp draws near!

1. Getting Ready for Camp Packet

Once you enroll online, you’ll receive a physical packet in the mail with all the details on preparing for summer camp. This packet will include your child’s luggage tags. Boy campers get 3 blue tags and girl campers get 3 yellow tags. If you have yet to receive this packet, please call our main office and we will get you set up!

2. Packing

Here’s a quick link to our packing list. You’ll also get a packing list in your packet.

3. Camper Forms

Be sure and get your camper forms in ASAP. If your camper is flying and needs to be picked up at the airport, be sure and complete your transportation form.

4. Clothes Labeling

Make sure all your camper’s clothing is labeled with their first initial and last name. You may order clothes labels on your CampInTouch (camphuawni.com login) account. Click on the Huawni Camper Clothing Labels.

5. CampInTouch Account for Parents

You are now more plugged in to Camp as a parent than ever before. Once you login to our website (your CampInTouch account), you may email your child (we print these and hand out at lunch) and browse daily photos. You can even order your favorite pictures of your child.

6. Subscribe to the Camp Blog

Throughout the summer we will blog and keep you up to speed on what’s happening at Camp. You may subscribe here by clicking the blue button that says “subscribe via email.”

7. Huawni Parent Book Club

While your child is at Camp, you can join our parent book club and read along with us. We will be reading the book Unschooling Rules by Clark Aldrich. If you would like a free copy of this book (you can pick it up on Opening Day), shoot us an email. You can pick it up in the Dining Hall.

8. Staying Overnight Before/After Opening & Closing Day

For many of you, you’ll be driving to Camp from long distances. If you need to stay overnight, go here to find out where to stay in Center, Texas (just 8 miles from Camp).
