As Tribal Competition Team day came to a close yesterday, you’d think the fun was officially over. Well….not at Huawni. Some things never change, and that certainly was the case last night. As the Huawni Iron Man came to a close, Campers enjoyed a much needed dinner at the Dining Hall. After supper Camp gathered just past the soccer field for the famous, famous, MOST FAMOUS Huawni Tug O War. We drenched the Tug O War pit with water, and the winner (or loser…depending on how you see it) enjoyed a nice little mud bath.
As Campers readied their toes in the mud, these pictures tell it all!
After Tug O War campers headed up to Flagpole Hill to enjoy slip-n-slide and Huawni Snow Cones! This has traditionally been a great way to end a full day of Tribal Competition. After running around all day and sweating, the chill of a grape snow cone and being drenched in water is a nice surprise.
Today Campers enjoyed another day of Connect, as they got to pick which activities they wanted to do. The rock wall at the Ropes Course, Critter, Trolley, Slide, and Pool were all open. Tonight Campers are right in the middle of the much awaited Huawni Celebration! We’ve got carnival games, two-stepping lessons, and much more planned for tonight. Tomorrow morning Campers will gather round the boughs of the Summer Tree to share with friends what’s on their hearts, and then we will celebrate the session once again with Critter Pond Mixer. Tomorrow night we will host Initiation, as we’ll welcome into the Tribe a handful of new initiates. Parents who are alumni, you are welcome to join us tomorrow night for this special occasion. If you’d like to come, please call our main Camp line tomorrow and let Lauren know you’re coming. We will do check in at the iron gate. Please arrive at 6pm.
We can’t believe Session 4 is coming near an end! We are soaking up the last few drops!
