Kicking Off Session 3!

Today is Monday, June 24th, otherwise known as the first day of Session 3!! After a big rain storm last night, Flag Raising was covered in clouds and cool weather this morning. We were thankful for the breeze blowing as campers said the Pledge of Allegiance, then walked to the Dining Hall for a big breakfast! Full on pancakes and sausage, everyone went to the cabin for Inspection and to get ready for morning activities. This morning was in full swing! We saw Cedar Flats at Bikes, Honey Suckle Hollow at Hot Shot, and Sun Up at the Obstacle Course have loads of fun. What a good way to kick off the first full day of Camp!
After a busy morning of playing, the sun came out and everyone went to Lunch. After eating all the chicken burritos and chips we could, all of Camp went to Rest Period to recover from a jam packed morning. The afternoon was full of sunshine and laughter while cabins were spotted at the Critter Pond, Ropes, Gaga Ball, and even the Volleyball Court!
We got ready for the night by eating Miss Ada’s roast, corn, and potatoes and hanging out during after supper time! Counselors came out dressed as unicorns, ballerinas, chimps, and all other fun costumes to get everyone for the famous famous.. MOST FAMOUS.. Capture the Flag!! It was a hard battle between the Yellow Noodles and Spicy Butterscotch. We saw Miguel M. score for Spicy Butterscotch and Tate P. score for the Yellow Noodles, and after Scarlett W. and Logan W. scored two more times, Spicy Butterscotch took the win for the first night activity of Session 3. Today was a lot of fun and we cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings for day 2 in the Piney Woods!!
Parents, what are some things you’re looking forward to for your camper?
