Made to Play

On a whopping 600+ acres of piney woods, Camp Huawni has private waterfronts, miles of biking and hiking trails, and seemingly neverending outdoor activities… plenty of room for your child to be outside and play. Instead of days being filled with TikTok dances and Instagram followers, their days are spent soaking up the sun, playing in the mud, and being a kid. Those times that your child would normally be glued to their phone are traded in for moments of fresh air, piney woods, and just being a kid.

You wouldn’t think that a slip ‘n slide set up on Flagpole Hill or a Tuesday night spent fishing with a cane pole and eating worms (gotta love tradition!) would be so impactful, but it is. Simple fun has been our speciality for 55+ years now, and in a time where technology is constantly growing and changing, we are keeping it simple, fun, and outdoors. The water in the Pinson Creek isn’t special or magic and there’s nothing different about the sunshine pouring down over Camp Huawni everyday. But there is a love and appreciation that grows after spending two weeks at Camp Huawni that you just don’t get back home.

Time and time again, we hear from our parents about how their child changed after attending Camp, in a lot of different ways. They gained more confidence, made so many sweet friendships, and developed an even bigger love for the outdoors. We were made to play outdoors. So, enjoy the sun and breeze – and play!
