Yesterday, we had the all-camp-encompassing Triathlon, a multisport race that involves swimming the Critter Pond, biking the camp road, and running from the bike shed to the OC. Phew, that’s a lot to do! Completing the Triathlon is no easy feat, but our campers totally crushed the course - some even finishing it out in 16 minutes!

One of the things that makes this event special is unity. It really shows how motivation by your fellow peers and counselors can bring everyone together. Throughout this session, we have watched our campers grow and teach each other how to encourage one another. The Triathlon can be daunting, especially for first-timers, but counselors and campers alike cheered for the participants at every leg of the race. It really helped the triathletes to push on and not give up. The sweat and hard work everyone put in was amazing, and all campers finished strong!

A common saying at Camp Huawni is that “We were made to play outdoors”, and yesterday was a true testament to that. The Triathlon showed how anyone can be outdoorsy and still have fun.
