Huawni for the Win!
One of the best parts of summer camp is how full our days are, but how freeing it feels. Our campers don’t stress over appointment times and to do lists, but yet, they are ALWAYS on the move. At Camp Huawni, they enjoy the safety of their cabin leaders managing the schedule for them, but still showing up to events to absolutely show out. Everyday is an opportunity to learn a new skill, or to practice something difficult, and leave feeling accomplished with a smile on their face.
Individual Competition has started between our Session 2 Caddo and Tejas tribes during the day. Caddo took the win in the soccer game with a close 5-4 score on Friday night. Saturday was a full adventure with a hike to the carving tree, the famous mud fight, and a spectacular cookout. As always, cookout was filled with hamburgers, hotdogs, and endless funny stories to keep everyone laughing. We love seeing our session 2 campers at cookout, because every year that they return, they show that our special Huawni stories have been etched into their memories. I believe that most of them could probably tell the full camp stories on their own.
As we continue to pride ourselves on the magic we create for your campers, we hope that you live vicariously through their stories, pictures, and passion in their hearts for this second home.
