After a lively first week back at Camp Huwani, we know your session 3 campers are captivated by their experiences and ready to share every minute of it with you, their dear loved ones. So, let me help you out with a few big highlights to probe them about when they return to you.
After our campers arrived on Sunday, they got their first taste of camp life with the Opening Night Show. This evening activity is a perfect intro to our time together, and typically one that gets blurred in by the end of such an eventful summer- so be sure to bring it up!
Monday and Tuesday begin our regularly scheduled activities, but don’t worry, absolutely nothing about these days are mundane. From archery and pickleball to the OC and ropes, and everything in between, activities here couldn’t be more thrilling. We’ve seen some wonderful kids explore their boundaries and grow in new ways. Our evening activities were capture the flag and fishing.
Wednesday and Thursday were our most bustling days starting with playday and Uprising. After a good night’s rest, we saw real talent and hard work on display for skit night, and then the highly anticipated Tribal Initiation.
Of course, we’ll end the weekly highlights with camper’s favorites, and these events are ones that our kids talk about years down the road. (Alumni, you know what I’m talking about) Soccer and simple fun filled Friday’s evening, and Mud Fight started off our jam packed Saturday. We follow that up with our nicest wear at cookout, share stories, and then learn what Camp Huawni is really all about on the Wild Woman Hunt. If you haven’t heard about this yet, get ready for some giggles.
Loved ones, we know that entrusting your children in our care is like handing over your heart to us for two weeks, and not only do we make their safety our biggest priority, but we do everything in our power to increase their joy, encourage their growth, and provide them with memories that will last their lifetime.
We can’t thank you enough for sharing your babies with us, and we can’t wait to see them again next summer.
