The Blue Tejas put up a big fight tonight, hoping to erase a 0-2 win deficit, but the Caddo were too much.

In Game 3, the Caddo took an early 2-0 lead. Addy T. made an amazing snag at first base to keep the Caddo from scoring even more. Sam W. also made a diving catch on a line drive that might just show up on Sports Center. In the fourth inning, Tejas tied the game up 2-2 thanks to Whit S.’s two-run triple. Finally, in the seventh inning, Caddo took the game when Zach F. smashed a two-run triple to win the game 4-2.

Game 4 was another neck and neck game. Davis P. got the Tejas started with a two-run home run in the first inning. Cole E. followed that for the Caddo with a double of his own. Other notable hits included John R.‘s double for the Tejas and Parker B.’s double for the Caddo. Tejas led 5-3 until Miles L. came to bat, blasting a three-run home run. Caddo would eventually go up 7-5. The game was by no means over. Heading into the seventh and final inning, Tejas got two more runs tying the game at 7-7. Two more Tejas runners made it safely on base when Kemal T. blasted a two-run single for a 9-7 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Tejas held the Caddo to no runs and got the victory. Because Caddo won 3 games to Tejas’s 1 game, Caddo won the WWS!

Tomorrow Caddo and Tejas will square off in all day competition. Both tribes are very much in the hunt to win the golden pine cone. All day Tribal Competition is a neat day because you really get to see kids give everything they have. Even campers who aren’t necessarily athletic love and enjoy all-day competition. I’ve had some campers even tell me that all-day competition is the only day of the year they’re this competitive.
