This is an exciting week at Camp Huawni. Why so? Well, this is our third year to seclude to a quiet spot and plan for summer 2015.

I want to especially thank the Davis family for opening up their lake house; it’s been an extremely tranquil getaway thus far.

We’ve had two full days and tackled some very relevant topics that should directly impact our campers next summer. Here’s a quick glance at what we’re working on this week.

  • Reviewing in detail your (parent) feedback so that we can improve your child’s camp experience
  • How we continue to pursue our vision of becoming the premier summer camp in the southwest. We define premier as excellent service, excellent staff, and excellent youth development.
  • Making our 2015 camp parties better than ever.
  • Improving campus activities, and potentially adding phase one of a new high ropes course.
  • How to better handle and walk with campers through behavior issues
  • Considering how to reduce the number of bunks in cabins to free up space and provide a better cabin experience

We have a full day left and will soon be filling our fall and spring calendars in hopes of making next summer the best yet!

What is the one improvement you’d like to see at Camp next summer?
