Family Camp was so very special in so many ways. Thank you to all our families who spent the weekend here in the pineywoods with us over Memorial Day.
Our Memorial Day weekend was filled with lots of fun and lots of sweet memories. After finally getting a big helping of Ms. Ada’s fried chicken, we took a truck ride over to Huawni Pond for some cane pole fishing and s’mores. Sunday we gathered for a Little Red Church service at the Dining Hall. After our counselors played some beautiful worship songs we had the pleasure of getting to hear from Dr. Chris White and John Marek (LPC-S) on answering the question “Who am I?”. It was really intriguing and encouraging to hear how that question spurred so much inside so many of us. Chris then shared a poem he wrote entitled Who Am I?. It was very moving.
Sunday continued to pile up with fun as water activities continued, we hiked to the Carving Trees, and a few of us paddle boarded Huawni Pond. It was so very pleasant outside. Following dinner families and staff shined on stage as we hosted Family Skit Night. Soon the rain came pouring down, so we finished the night in true form with a Sing Song in the Dining Hall.
It was such a meaningful and full weekend. Thank you again to all our families who spent the weekend with us!
