Reported by Counselor Missy B.:

We mixed things up yesterday with Playday and Uprising! We kicked off the day by surprising campers with a silly and competitive water fight complete with water pistols and water pitchers. During Playday, our girl campers participated in different relay games, including the egg toss, pie-in-the-eye, and pouring ice water on counselors’ backs! During Uprising (a Huawni spin on Capture the Flag), our boy campers divided into teams to wield pine cones and towels. Afterwards, they enjoyed refreshing watermelon!

Playday and Uprising are great activities for our campers (and even staff) to let go of their need to put up appearances in order to feel good about themselves. Emphasizing the importance and value of simple, spirited fun, these events allow our campers to be care-free. Those involved learn to keep a positive attitude when having egg, confetti, and whipped cream thrown on them. Teams work together and cheer each other on with encouragement and support.
