We’ve had a busy week at Camp Huawni. Session 1 can feel like a whirlwind for our new campers, causing their memories to get jumbled up through the week. Follow along below to help them differentiate the days, and catch the funniest stories from your kids by asking about a specific event. In addition to everyday activities that our campers are falling in love with, our evenings have been full of excitement.
Tuesday evening was our first night fishing of the summer, followed by a camp favorite: smores! As most of us know, any night with chocolate for our campers is a pretty good night :)
Wednesday was a hike to the carving tree and a group mud fight. After cleaning up, and dressing in our best, staff showed campers a good time at cookout- a night of burgers, camp stories, and a wild woman hunt! (Ask your camper for details, we know they will share the best memories from this chase!)
Thursday was a quick change of plans due to weather, but campers maintained great attitudes and laughed with their new friends in the dining hall for a movie night.
Tonight, we’ll end the session with special activities, the critter pond mixer, and initiation.
Parents, as we celebrate session 1 campers this summer, we know that the memories they’ve made here will last a lifetime, and they’ll be grateful to you for sending them on this adventure.
