As the sun sets on Summer 2023, we find ourselves reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences, traditions, and friendships that were cultivated in the heart of Camp Huawni. For many summers now, Huawni has been a second home for generations of campers and staffers. As we reflect on another successful summer, it’s clear that the consistency of camp continues to impact campers and staffers alike.
This summer would not have been possible without our wonderful camper families. The gates of Camp Huawni swung open to embrace both familiar and fresh faces. What we love most about Huawni is the consistency it brings to our lives. Year after year we get to participate in the rich traditions that Huawni offers, and watch as they bond campers together and foster a sense of belonging. This summer, we enjoyed Ada’s famous fried chicken, fished on Tuesday nights, played spirited games of soccer, and celebrated great sessions! Each worm bravely eaten, every water balloon hurled, and all the laughter shared contributed to the rich history that is Camp Huawni. We celebrate the 300 worms, the 4,000 water balloons, the 700 dibs, and the 80 watermelons, but most importantly, we celebrate the connections that make camp a second home – a place where lasting friendships and memories are woven into all of our lives.
Our hearts overflow with gratitude as we reflect on another triumphant summer spent with each and every one of you. Camp Huawni provides us all with a sense of belonging in this world. The countdown to next summer has already begun, but we’ll remember this summer from now on! Until next time, stroll through your memories and catch a glimpse of all the enjoyable moments from the recent summer!
P.S. Thank you to all who left us google and facebook reviews! Congrats to our drawing winner, Chris Cluck!
