Last night we celebrated the session with North Country Fair and a Green River Ordinance concert. It was nothing short of epic. I’d like to thank Josh Jenkins and crew for making the pit stop in Timpson to put on a show for Session 4. The music was fantastic and those guys truly are professionals and great dudes. GRO…thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Jenkins gets it started with Keep It Cool.

Jamey bends some strings on lead guitar during the concert.

After the concert we were blessed to have a campfire sing song with Josh and Jeff acoustic style for our staff. I had a long-time dream of my come true as well as I got to sit in with Josh and Jeff and play a few tunes by the fire. In the midst of the sing song, Jeff encouraged our staff and the job they have done this summer. Thank you Jeff— we were very encouraged by all that you said.

Josh and Jeff led a sing song for staff after the show.

This morning we gathered around the Summer Tree as campers got a chance to share anything on their heart. I was once again taken aback on how much wisdom some of our campers shared. Here are a few quotes from this morning.

I love camp because I get to be away from my cell phone.

I love my counselors because they have helped me learn so much about who I am.

I love my sisters so much. Even though we live together, I’ve gotten to know you so much better at Camp.

Tonight we hiked to the Initiation Pond for Initiation as 46 new campers joined the Huawni Tribe. Following Initiation we gathered on Flagpole Hill for the final tribal competition ceremony. There we announced the Tribal Competition winner, whose tribal flag will fly on Flagpole Hill for the remainder of the year.

The winner of Tribal Competition, Session 4 is…….the Red Caddo!!!!! For the first time in the history of Tribal Competition, Caddo has won back to back sessions. We are so very proud of both tribes and look forward to competing next summer.

We ended tonight with a sing song at the pool. We played You Are My Sunshine, Froggie Went a Courtin, Salty Dog, Wild Woman, Wagon Wheel, I Still Do, Brothers, Long Black Veil, Shelby County Breeze, Summer, and the Camp Song.

Parents, we will see you tomorrow morning for Closing Day. Gates will open at 9am and checkout will be between 9am and 10:25am. Go straight to your cabins as we encourage you to get quality time with your child’s cabin counselors. At 10:30am we will begin Closing Ceremonies in the Dining Hall. We will also open the camp store in the Dining Hall at 9am.

We cannot wait to share with you all that went on this session!! See you tomorrow!
