Escaping Your Comfort Zone

Session 3 took on our Huawni Triathlon yesterday with an immense amount of Spirit. Walking around, I saw campers and counselors who chose not to participate standing along the path the campers ran and biked in order to encourage and cheer on every person that passed them. This is such a cool opportunity for our campers to learn how to encourage their friends as well as how to push themselves out of their comfort zones.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with our Triathlon, it’s a long swim of the Critter Pond, a bike ride down and back the Camp Road (almost 2 miles), then finishes with a run from our bike shed to the Obstacle Course (about 3/4 of a mile). It’s a good amount of work that we get to see our campers do well. Campers and counselors push each other past their comfort zones in order to help them realize what they really are capable of!
