Sing Song #1 (Almost Live from KWNI Soundcloud Radio)

So many things that we do at Huawni are simple. One of those is Sing Song, where all of camp gathers to sing traditional camp songs. You wouldn’t think that it’s that big of a deal, but as Campers come back to summer camp at Huawni it becomes more and more a favorite group activity. It’s also very peaceful as the backdrop of Sing Song usually includes a sky full of stars and crickets and frogs singing harmony.
Last night after Capture the Flag Campers got cleaned up and then gathered on the Riviera Deck for our very first Sing Song of the session. The stars were out and extremely bright. Some highlights from Sing Song last night included first-year Campers listening for their echo, finding the big and little dipper, and dancing to Wagon Wheel.
Last night’s Sing Song lineup
- You Are My Sunshine
- When I First Came to This Land
- Some Fool Made a Soldier of Me
- Wagon Wheel

Thanks to technology, our KWNI Radio Studio is back up and running via our Camp Huawni Soundcloud Station. So without further ado, we hope you enjoy last night’s Session 4 Opening Sing Song!
Parents, what’s your (or your child’s) favorite Sing Song memory?
