Sunday is such a calm and peaceful day for Campers, it gives them a chance to rest and enjoy the activities of the day. Yesterday morning we took a trailer ride to Little Red Church where Campers were given the chance to listen as Nathan gave a great talk about fear.

“Church is a great tradition here at Camp Huawni. It’s a time where everyone gathers and worships with songs and a message. Regardless of belief, Campers get a morning of people and reflection before second week. The message was over fear and what to do with it. Everyone has fears that take over from time to time. If you can trust God and focus on the positives in Life, fear will be dismissed.”-Nathan P.

Sunday afternoon Campers get to enjoy Choice. Campers get to pick between attending a Hike, Crittering, Swimming or just enjoying a movie in the dining hall! The Campers on the Hike got to enjoy the tradition of Turtle Rock, where they jumped in the water and munched on fresh watermelon!

“I liked going down a dirt slide and jumping off in the water, oh and the watermelon is yummy!” –Lucy S.

Wiffle Ball World Series has begun! After two crazy games last night, the final score ended up being 17-8 Tejas! Both teams put up a great fight and the win wasn’t as easy as the score shows. The Red Caddo played cohesively and undoubtedly put forth tons of effort towards the game. We will see the two face off again on Tuesday in Wiffle Ball World Series Round 2!

“It’s fun to watch and cheer on Tejas!” –Jay S.

After a great battle on the Wiffle Ball field, Campers got ready for our Famous Famous MOST FAMOUS Shaving Cream & Waterballon fight! Campers spent rest period filling up water balloons! The Shaving Cream fight is a Camper favorite and the Campers and Counselors alike love getting messy and smearing chocolate syrup, flour, and shaving cream on their friends here at camp!

Crazy that we’ve already finished a week of Session 4! Campers and Counselors have been having so much fun and there’s so much more to look forward to this week!
