Today was the last full day of Camp and it was jam packed with all of Huawni’s favorite things. We started the day with our daily Flag Raising and breakfast, and then all went out for one last morning of activities. Your campers got one last chance to bike Huawni’s new biking trails, shot a bullseye at the Archery Range, & zip down the zipline at the High Ropes Course. I’m sure you will hear loads of stories about all of it!

This afternoon, we enjoyed our last moments together by all heading to the Critter Pond for the famous, famous, MOST FAMOUS Critter Pond Mixer!! CPM is a great time of getting last minute Crittering in, drinking Ms. Ada’s lemonade, cheering on counselors in the football toss, & spending time with camp friends before we all part for the summer.

Cooling off in the Critter Pond is the best way to spend the last day of camp

During rest period, campers voted for Princess and Chief- which is the girl and boy camper that they felt best represents both girls and boys camp. Girl’s camp voted on Lydia E. to be their Princess, and Boy’s Camp voted on Xander K. as Chief. We are so excited for these two & grateful on how they have lead Huawni well! Tonight, 42 campers were initiated into the Huawni Tribe. Initiation is a memorable & solemn ceremony, and we are so excited to have them as a part of the Huawni family!

We ended with a Sing Song by the pool underneath the beautiful night sky. At Sing Song, we sing a song written by Mike Adams called Summer. One of the lines says “how days looked to are now the past, and good it is that memories last of this summer.” I’m sure that everyone is feeling that way after Sing Song tonight as campers head back to their almost packed up cabins before leaving until next summer. Are you missing listening to your favorite songs while sitting on the Pool deck? Listen to tonight’s Sing Song here.

The gates open tomorrow morning at 9am, and we will begin our Closing Ceremonies at 10:30am. It will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to meet the people that have been taking care of your camper the past week, see what unbreakable friendships they made with other campers, & hear all of the best camp stories non-stop! We are excited to see you tomorrow!

Parents, how have you seen your child grow during their summers at Huawni?
