Out here at Camp Huawni, we had a bright and sunny Wednesday. Kids went to their activities in the morning before getting ready for the Hike to the Carving Trees.
After a delicious lunch, mail call, and rest period, campers headed out to a new trail that led to the Penson Creek.
At the Mud Fight, counselors and campers alike got messy playing in the creek and flinging mud at each other. We ended the Hike with the “famous, famous…MOST FAMOUS” dinosours eggs, aka watermelon.
All of camp headed back to clean up for Cookout followed by storeytelling and the Wild Woman Hunt!
Our directors grilled delicious burgers and hotdogs for all the campers and staff. People sat around talking and threw the football while watching a beautiful sunset.
After the meal, everyone gathered to listen to Max P. lead story time. Ending with the story of Wild Woman, Max directed younger campers to a trailer and older campers to the camp road to begin the hunt.
The younger campers headed out towards the H-Pond where the Wild Woman was roaming the woods amongst the local deer. Even the older campers were able to catch a glimpse of the Huawni legend on the camp road!
After a long hunt, we closed the day with Sing Song at the pool under a full moon. At the end of Sing Song, boys went to the north and girls went to the south.
That concludes another great day at Camp Huawni!
