One of the greatests gifts of summer camp is the friendships that are made. Despite only being at camp for one or two weeks out of the entire year, our campers build deep, long-lasting relationships with each other as they share life together in the piney woods. Unplugged from technology in an environment of love, care, and encouragement, campers get to connect with new and different people. Friendship is one the reasons why our new campers come to Camp Huawni and also why our returning campers keep coming back.

There were lots of hugs and happy tears as we closed our second session this morning. We are so proud each and every camper and their growth during these past two weeks.

This session, we welcomed 33 new initiates to the Camp Huawni Tribe:

Jack B., Remi H., Bentley M., Jess M., Jack M., Hunt W., Walker B., Tyler C. Xander M., Noah P., Connor A., Clayton H., Evan H., Zaria R., Lily S., Kaylee W., Evan A., Harper H., Austen M., Ellery N., Vivienne P., Elle R., Natalee C., Madeleine S., Logan S., Vivien N., Caroline O., Evie C., Maya S., Addison A., Alexis B., and Roxie Z.

During each session, campers elect a Chief and Princess, who are older campers that best embody the Huawni spirit while demonstrating leadership qualities, including compassion and discipline. This session’s Chief and Princess are Sam P. and Caitlin D.!

We send our well wishes to our campers as they continue their best summer ever! This session may have ended today, but we’re excited as a new one begins tomorrow!
