One of the best things about Camp Huawni is our love for tradition, and one of our favorites is Fishing on a Tuesday Night! Fishing is a time for camp to come together after a busy day and enjoy the Shelby County breeze.

All of camp headed out to H-Pond to enjoy cane pole fishing, s’mores, and counselor chubby bunny. Cane pole fishing is very simple, but it is something campers look forward to every year! We finished the night off with another famous tradition, Sing Song! Led by staff, Sing Song is a time where campers are able to slow down and take in their surroundings. Campers sing the same songs year after year, like Long Black Veil and You are my Sunshine, with some new ones sprinkled in, like Wind and Anchor and Brothers. Click the link to hear it for yourself!

Tomorrow morning, campers will be surprised with water and “Chicken Train” after breakfast for Play Day! Following Play Day and Uprising, campers will participate in Messy Fight, where they will get covered in chocolate syrup, flour, and spaghetti to name a few. It has been a great start to the session and we are looking forward to the week and a half ahead!
