At Huawni we truly value simple fun, and our days are filled with it, from sunrise to sunset.
An average day starts at 8:15 on flagpole hill. Where we spend time saying the pledges, and seeing campers show off their action and songs of the day. We wrap it up with quick tradition from the Pine Top girls, then head to breakfast!
After breakfast, campers head back to their cabins. Here, they take time to clean their cabins for inspection. After inspection, they get ready for their morning activities.
We have such a wide variety of activities for the campers to spend their day doing. From the slide and critter at the critter pond, to archery, pickleball, and field sports. We also have multiple water activities to help cool our campers down on those hot Texas summer days.
After three morning activities, the campers head to lunch. Most campers’ favorite part of lunch is mail call. This is when staff hand out all of the letters, packages, and Bunk1s, that their family and friends have sent them since they’ve been gone.
Following lunch, campers return to their cabins and spend the next hour, resting and hanging out with their cabinmates. This is a chance for campers to slow down, take a nap, write letters, and be with their friends.
Once rest period is over the campers head back out for their afternoon activities!
Following their afternoon activities are over they head back to the dining hall for dinner. Once dinner is over they have about an hour before the all-camp night activity to hangout outside. This is the time where campers can go to the camp store, play gaga ball, or basketball! Campers could also just hang out in their hammocks or on the Sun Down porch and just be with their friends.
When the hour of free time concludes, it is time for the night activity to begin. One example of a night activity is Skit Night! This is when each cabin comes up with a short skit to show off to the rest of camp. All of the cabins have the opportunity to win the coveted spirit stick, which is awarded by our guest hosts for the night!
Finally, after the spirit stick is awarded campers head back to their cabins, shower, and get ready for bed. They talk and laugh until lights out, then they go to sleep to get ready for a new day of Huawni fun!
