We hosted the second round of the Wiffleball World Series Tuesday night— both tribes played two competitive and well-rounded games.
In Game 3 Caddo ousted Tejas by a score of 3-0. In Game 4 Tejas edged Caddo 1-0. In Sunday’s first round, Tejas won Game 1 7-1 and Caddo won Game 2 8-1. Since both teams finished with a 2-2 record, it came down to total runs. Congratulations to Caddo for taking Session 2 Wiffleball World Series! Since soccer and WWS are two of the bigger events (worth the most points), Caddo and Tejas were all knotted up going into Wednesday’s all-day Tribal Competition.
Wednesday at Camp Huawni is a special one. It’s the one day we devote to team competition. It can be a very long day, but what comes from it is really neat to see. It’s the ultimate team day, where it’s giving your all and cheering your team (and the other tribe) on to their best. There’s victory, and heartbreak. BUT…we try and use bother victory and defeat as opportunities to learn and grow. In fact, I’d argue that we learn more through failure than through victory. Nonetheless, the pictures from Wednesday really tell the story. We have yet to announce the outcomes of Wednesday’s events because we are having to assess time penalties due to the rules of each event. As usual, campers got to compete in Soccer Kick Around the Pool, Hotshot, OC Team Run, Innertube Relay, Huawni Derby, and Run for the Roses! Enjoy the sites and sounds of All Day Tribal Comp and WWS Round 2!
